The inspiration for this series comes from the experience of watching fish in their own environment, swimming freely, squeezing through tight spaces and just sitting in the current, maintaining position. The series also explores the fisherman’s anticipation of what might lie beneath the surface; once caught, fish come to market and are hung in groups.  Another inspiration within this series is the use of the fish symbol (Icthys) as a means of communication among the early Christian community.
